Reflections of the Skipper and the Admiral

The stage is being set,
For the play to begin,
A work adventure,
Awaits from afar.
Anticipation, is in the air.
But wait voiced the Admiral,
Are we ready to leap?
Work to be finished,
Boxes to fill,
Yet more boxes to move,
Items to sell,
Services to cancell,
Many, many things, to make the head spin.
And wishes for rest, but instead,
more things on the list!

So one's mind drifts back,
To a time last fall,
Before the skipper's thoughts,
Imagined faraway places,
In which to toil.
A place where in fact,
Desert meets sea.
Yes to Baha, and the Sea of Cortez.
And now on the threshold,
Of another place,
Where desert meets sea,
But where cacti, become date palms.

Long before thoughts of packing!

The Sea of Cortez, where desert meets sea.

Looking to the future and new adventures.
